Optimizing resources to ensure the sustainability of the food & beverage industry

With recent world events in 2016, issues like resource scarcity, climate change, hunger, food security, and social disparity have presented new challenges to food producers, retailers and the entire F&B industry at large.

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 (SDG2030) have been adopted by the industry as the overarching guidelines to formulate sustainable strategies. Now we must ask ourselves how do we overcome challenges in implementing actionable initiatives and how do we measure the impact of these efforts?

This summit brings together industry leaders to address real life challenges and present best practice solutions in order to ensure that the projected population of more than 9 billion in 2050 will be fed in a sustainable yet profitable manner

The objective of this event is to provide participants with practical business ideas and roadmaps to successfully implement their sustainability strategies and achieve companywide goals.

This summit will bring together leading sustainability executives from some of the largest food producers, retailers and suppliers. We will take a closer look at how sustainability initiatives are being fostered and even acting as a paradigm shift to business as usual.

Key topics for the 2017 summit:

  • Overcoming supply chain challenges and resource scarcity

  • Implementing initiatives to improve system resilience and responsible sourcing

  • Incorporating circular economy principles into your business strategy

  • Communication and information sharing at multi-stakeholder levels: Reporting, certification and transparency

  • Food waste and overconsumption: Strategies to combat this growing problem

  • UN’s SDG2030: Converting goals and targets into actionable strategies

  • Climate change and its impact on the bottom line

Who should attend?

The executives that will realise the greatest benefit through attendance are Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, Heads and Managers of:

  • Sustainability
  • Environment
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Supply Chain
  • Procurement
  • Sustainable Packaging
  • Product Development
